Amanda and Clint are so fun together! I didn't have to ask them to do much once I got them in a scene - they were naturals at just playing around and doing their own thing - they made me look so good :)

Abigail from Montana...

Punch anyone? Abigail is 4 months old and already loves to stand with help from mom and dad! she is served here in the the finest silver punch bowl atop the beautiful hardwood dining table of her great aunt who lives here in Tyler! Emily (mommy) please be sure to correct me if I've misspelled her name here :) more to come tomorrow!
Happy Valentines Day everybody! <3>

Abigail and her mom and dad traveled through Tyler on business (for dad) and visits to relatives (for mom) and heard of me through a mutual friend and artist Kerian Babbit who is one of my BFF's. They are from Montana! and were leaving for Houston in only two days.
Emily's Aunt Jane was so kind as to watch my girls, and let us use her gorgeous home for our location shoot. Jane has fabulous taste! I could visit her house 5 times over and have a truly original shoot each time. Red furniture is always a plus, Jane- as well as that gorgeous grand piano you let my girls bang on ;). Anyway, thanks to Jane, we got Emily and Abigail worked in by the next morning! I hope you all enjoy sweet Abigail's images as much as I enjoyed meeting all of you :) Thanks for inviting us into your home to spend the morning with you!

Tyler Burning

Fire has a morbid way of mesmerizing you. It is so tragic, yet you can't help but stare... You feel almost hypnotized after being in its presence for only short time.... Monday night a week ago, I headed downtown to meet a bride at Don Juan's on the square for contracts. I was suprised to find smoke and a firetruck and when I came out of Don Juan's less than an hour later,I saw that my truck was blocked in by an army of emergency and news vehicles and the building was ablaze. So what better to do when you're trapped downtown during a huge fire with a camera, but shoot it!
I can still smell the smoke as I'm sure many can. It actually gave me a hangover the next day as well as a smelly camera and truck interior for a week or so :P I've always wanted to shoot a fire, being a photojournalist at heart, but its the kind of thing you don't wish for it to happen so that you can...so I couldn't believe my luck to be at the right place at the wrong time. The historical significance and damage to the historical buildings that burned that day can be learned about at KLTV.com.
And on another sad note, one of the buildings was actually a fellow flickr member's family business that housed key blueprints and documents to some of the oldest buildings in Tyler's history. Our Flickr hearts go out to you and your fam, Lizzybees, as well as all the others who lost their businesses that day ...Here are some of my favorite dramatic shots of our East Texas firemen doing what they do best :

Brianna....7days ... Brother Noah....2 years old

Spent Superbowl Sunday with my good friend and former coworker who just had the cutest, snuggliest little baby I've ever seen! Brianna is 7 days old here and I think she tried on every outfit I had in my arsenal and didn't even know it because she slept through the whole thing. In fact, the only time she opened her eyes, she was in my arms so I never got a shot with her eyes open...we had good time getting shots of her and her big brother Noah...Enjoy your images, Lindsay, congratulations to you and your fam and thank you so much for having me in your home for the afternoon!
