Evan Spencer: TK Gorman Senior 2009

I was excited to shoot Evan's session on the Cascades in Tyler Texas, as I've always loved the rolling landscapes and smooth lawns of golf courses. Naturally we were kicked off soon after we were discovered, in spite of Evan's membership there, but not before we got some great shots ;) Evan also plays the drums so our next stop was his high school stadium where he played for his team. Evan has gone off to college, and has already completed his freshman year at OU! Congratulations Evan! XO, Mj~

Anna and Ava P ! Anna's 18 Months...

You probably remember Anna and Ava! Two of the cutest blue-eyed curly heads ever ;)
I have had the privilege of watching these girls grow over the last couple of years and they get prettier and prettier every time I see them! This time we played in the bubbles and the water and had a wonderful time exploring at the park. Monica and Gary, it is always a pleasure and such a compliment that you all come back time and again! Thanks so much! XO, Mj~
Be sure to check out their video below after pausing the music player!

Zoe's first day of school !

Today was Zoe's first day of school...Jeff and I drove her together. She got out, hugged his neck, told Ava she loved her, and eagerly marched up the long walk to those big double doors and never looked back. On the way home, she said a boy asked her to marry him today. She said she told him no ;) He wasn't her 'prince charming.' good girl! lol! She also asked me not to wake her up so early tomorrow.

Home Sweet Home :)

I am now back in the office after an exciting week of shooting in Duluth, Minnesota!!! what a charming and beautiful town on the shores of Lake Superior, with hills and waterfalls, and a very tolerable 70-85 degrees with breeze. You can't beat that when coming from HOT Tyler Texas... I might just have to escape to Duluth every summer to shoot :)

(the image of me by the waterfall was taken by my cousin Cat! thanks cous!XO!)
Photo shoots while there included two families on the beach, a boudouir on a WWII aircraft and Czech fighter plane, a beautiful sunset beach shoot featuring my cousin and her family on a Cirrus plane - GORGEOUS!!! and two beautiful and charming red headed be-freckled children on a farm with their horses and beautiful organic veggie and fruit garden!

Many thanks to Jon and Cat Dauplaise for hosting my visit, getting the bookings, and of course the most luxurious lodging, dining and coffee EVER!!! Love that Caribou Coffee!!! Can't wait to come back ;)
XOXOXO!!! Mj~

Katie and Trevor: Whirlwind Romance!

I was thrilled when Katie contacted me to say she loved my work and wanted to learn from me, but never in a million years did i dream before I would even get to meet her in person, Trevor would pop the question :) So before I knew it they were calling me to do their engagement session! I think these are my favorite sessions to do, what better subject than capturing love and all it's giddy excitement! And when I say whirlwind romance, I mean, their wedding is already coming up next month! Congrats to you both! I think this session tops them all! The beauty and passion of your love for each other shines in every image! XO, Mj~

Acosta :)

Meet the Acosta's! Three years ago, Denise, Jesse, and Angelina were actually my very first 'outside' clients - the first who were not already aquaintences of mine before starting my business...I am proud to say, they have continued to come back over the years, watching my business change and grow - and always supporting and encouraging me :) This time around, I was delighted to get to meet Jesse's daughter, beautiful Arielle, visiting from West Texas. I asked her if she was a high school senior? No, she is a sophomore - IN COLLEGE! W O W!!! Way to go! Denise, thanks, as always for supporting my art and life's work! I have enjoyed getting to know you better as a friend this time around :) and thanks so much for having me in your home and letting me drag that awesome chair into your neighbor's yard! And of course thanks to the neighbor for letting us use their yard ;) Enjoy your images! XO, MJ
